João Teixeira Soares de Sousa (12 September 1827 – 1 February 1875) was an Azorean entrepreneur, politician and investigator of Azorean history, anthropology, and ethnography. Born on the island of São Jorge, in the municipality of Velas, he was also referred to as João Teixeira Soares.
