John Charles Templer (1814–1874) was a lawyer.Born in Bridport, he entered Trinity College, Cambridge in 1832, was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1837, and called to the bar in 1854, after which he was one of the Masters of the Court of Exchequer until 1874.He became a close friend of James Brooke through an elder brother, James, and edited three volumes of his letters for publication in 1853. He was also one of the founding directors of the Borneo Company in 1856.
