Julie Dash (born October 22, 1952) is an American filmmaker, author and member of the L.A. Rebellion. Her Daughters of the Dust (1992) was the first full-length film by an African-American woman with general theatrical release in the United States. Dash is the film's producer, screenwriter and director.
