Kanaganakoppa is a small village in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, India, 73 km from Bangalore. The name Kanaganakoppa is derived from the words "Kanakana Koppa". Kanaka was a well-known Pharaoh who discovered the region on a river basin "Utthara pinakini". There is a legend that the so-called ruler hid all of his wealth in the form of gold in seven big jaggery-making bowls and placed in a well atop a mountain.
