Kansen Chu (Chinese: 朱感生; pinyin: Zhū Gǎnshēng) is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 25th district, encompassing parts of the South Bay. Prior to being elected to the state assembly, he was a San Jose city councilmember representing District 4, which encompasses the communities of Berryessa, Alviso, and North San Jose.Elected in June 2007, Chu was the first Chinese-American to serve on the City Council.
