Karl-Otto Apel (German: [ˈaːpl̩]; born March 15, 1922) is a German philosopher and Professor Emeritus at the University of Frankfurt am Main. He developed a distinctive philosophical approach which he called "transcendental pragmatics" (Transzendentalpragmatik).
