kinema (किनेमा) — a popular Nepali dish which is prepared by fermentation of soybean. Kinema is cooked and taken its soup with rice. It is very similar to the Japanese nattō. Usually prepared at home as it is difficult to find commercial Kinema. The word kinema has been derived from 'kinambaa' of Limboo indigenous language of Nepal where 'Ki' means fermented and 'nambaa' means flavour.
