Lawnton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,787 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lawnton is the birthplace of Alexander Calder, a sculptor who is best known as the originator of the mobile.
