Luther Hanchett (October 25, 1825 – November 24, 1862) was a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin.Born in Middlebury Ohio, Hanchett attended the common schools.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1846 and commenced practice in Fremont, Ohio.He moved to Portage County, Wisconsin, in 1849.He engaged in lumber and mining enterprises.
