Maheshwarism was founded in the 600 BC in the Tirthraj Lohargal, Rajasthan, India. The Maheshwari religion was established around 2600 years ago by with the blessing of lord Mahesh (Lord Shiva) and Goddess Parvati. The ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Jyestha (May–June) is celebrated as Mahesh Navami to commemorate the birth of the Maheshwari community when Mahesh is worshiped. A Maheshwari (Sanskrit: माहेश्वरी) is a follower of Maheshwarism.
