Marco Brambilla is a Milan-born, New York City-based video collage and installation artist, known for his elaborate recontextualizations of popular and found imagery, which Vanity Fair praises as “critiques and masterpieces of visual overload.”His work has been exhibited in major collections worldwide including the Kunsthalle Bern, The Guggenheim Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the ARCO foundation, Madrid, and the New Museum of Contemporary Art.Brambilla brought his collision of collage to the mainstream with a notable darkly erotic one-minute music video for the Kanye West song, "Power" (2010), as well as innovative brand collaborations with the likes of Ferrari.His video installations have been screened at Venice Film Festival (2011) and the Sundance Film Festival (2012), and in May 2011, Brambilla's first major retrospective opened at the Santa Monica Museum of Art.Transit, a collection of photographs Brambilla took in and around national and international airports, was published by Booth-Clibborn Editions in 2000.Brambilla lives and works in New York.
