Matías Miguel de Irigoyen (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1781 – Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1839) was an Argentine soldier and politician.He travelled to Spain as a child, entered the navy in his youth, and was wounded at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Returned to Buenos Aires in 1809 and took part in the May Revolution. Irigoyen was the first ambassador named by the revolutionary government to be posted in Europe.
