Miltiadis Evert (from the German “Ewert”) (Greek: Μιλτιάδης Έβερτ; May 12, 1939 – February 9, 2011) was a Greek politician, a member of Parliament, Government minister, and ex-chairman of the New Democracy party. Evert was born in Athens, Greece, the son of the Athens police chief Angelos Evert. He studied at the Athens School of Economics and Business Science. Evert served as the Mayor of Athens from January 1, 1987 to May 14, 1989, and he was Chairman of New Democracy from 1993 to 1997.
