Morigaon district (Pron:mʌrɪˈgãʊ) (Assamese: মৰিগাঁও জিলা) is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India. The district headquarters are located at Morigaon. The district occupies an area of 1,550 km² and has a population of 957,853 (as of 2011) of which males and females are 485,328 and 472,525 respectively.The ancient place of occult Mayang is located in this district as well as Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.
