Nicolai Hartmann (German: [ˈhaɐ̯tman]; Latvian: Nikolajs Hartmanis; 20 February 1882 – 9 October 1950) was a Baltic German philosopher. He is regarded as a key representative of critical realism and as one of the most important twentieth century metaphysicians.
