Otter is an area in Nipissing District of Northeastern Ontario, Canada, located 1.5 km (0.93 mi) northeast of Otter Lake along the Ontario Northland Railway and over two hours drive time from North Bay. It is the remains of a dispersed rural community, making the townsite of Otter a ghost town.Like many other abandoned town sites along the Ontario Northland Railway, the community of Otter was established in the early 1900s when the railway was being constructed.
