The painted electric ray or variegated electric ray, Diplobatis pictus (sometimes misspelled picta), is a poorly known species of numbfish, family Narcinidae, native to the western Atlantic Ocean from southeastern Venezuela to the mouth of the Amazon River in Brazil.
