It has many meanings (the authoritative dictionary of the RAE lists eleven), including artists' palette, spatula, trowel, shoulderblade, blade of a windmill, water-wheel, etc., part of a bull's horn, flat bat for playing games susch as table tennis, and, in Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, an ice pop usually with a flat stick.
