Patna division is one of the nine administrative geographical unit of Bihar state of India. Patna is the administrative headquarters of the division. Established in 1829, it is one of the oldest divisions of the state. Currently (2005), the division consists of Patna district; Nalanda district, also called Biharsharif district; Bhojpur district, also called Arrah district; Rohtas district, also called Sasaram district; Buxar district; Kaimur district, also called Bhabhua district.
