The Peipsi whitefish (Coregonus maraenoides) is a freshwater whitefish of the family Salmonidae that occurs in several cold lakes in northern Europe: Lake Peipus, Pskov, Lammijarv, Võrtsjärv. Introduced in Lake Burtneck (Latvia), Gulf of Riga, many lakes of northern Russia, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Lakes Sevan (Armenia) and Balkash (Kazakhstan).
