Peoria is a town in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, United States. It was named for the Peoria tribe, a group of Native Americans who had moved into Indian Territory during the 19th Century.The population was 131 at the 2010 U. S. Census, down from 141 at the 2000 census. Peoria is part of the Joplin, Missouri metropolitan area.
