Edgar Peter Lougheed, PC CC AOE QC, (/ˈlɔːhiːd/ LAW-heed; July 26, 1928 – September 13, 2012) was a Canadian lawyer and politician. He served as the tenth Premier of Alberta from 1971 to 1985 as a Progressive Conservative.Lougheed was the grandson of Sir James Alexander Lougheed, an early senator and prominent Alberta businessman. After a short football career he entered business and practised law in Calgary.
