The Plains coyote (Canis latrans latrans), also known as the brush wolf, is a subspecies of coyote native to the Great Plains from Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan south to New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle. It is the largest subspecies, with rather pale fur and bearing large molars and carnassials.
