Powhatan Wildlife Management Area is a protected area located in Powhatan County, Virginia. Its 4,462 acres (18.06 km2) once belonged to several local farms; today, it is drained by several small streams that slowly make their way to Sallee Creek, which in turn goes north out of the area on the way to the James River. Much of the land is currently made of open fields; these combine with mature and new forest growth to ensure a diverse array of wildlife.
