The pygmy bushtit (Psaltria exilis) is a species of bird in the bushtit family Aegithalidae. It is monotypic within the genus Psaltria. The species was once placed, along with the rest of its family, with the true tits, Paridae. Its relationship with other species in its family is uncertain, but is still placed within the family due to similarities in behaviour and vocalisations.It is endemic to Indonesia, where it occurs only on the island of Java.
