Ralph Sauer is an American trombonist, arranger and teacher. He was Principal Trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 32 years.Sauer was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Emory Remington.He was the Principal Trombonist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra from 1968 to 1974.
