Rani Padmini (Padmavati) (Hindi: पद्मिनी) (died 1303 CE), was the queen of Chittor (Hindi: चित्तौड़), the wife of King Rawal Ratan Singh and the daughter of the contemporary Sinhala king. Rani Padmini was renowned across Indian land for her bewitching beauty.There is no historical evidence that Rani Padmini actually existed.She features in Padmavat, an epic poem written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540 CE.
