"Rhythm Nation" is a song by American recording artist Janet Jackson, released as the second single from her fourth studio album, Rhythm Nation 1814. It was written, composed, and produced by Jackson, in collaboration with James "Jimmy Jam" Harris III and Terrence "Terry" Lewis. Its production incorporates dance-pop and industrial music, also using elements of hip-hop and funk rock.
