Sawa lake (Arabic: بحيرة ساوة‎) is an Endorheic basin located in the Iraqi governorate of Muthanna at the eastern edge of the southern desert near to the Euphrates River 23 kilometres (14 mi) to the west of Al-Samawa city. This lake has no inlet or outlet but feed water from Euphrates through a system of joints cracks and fissures which transport water to aquifers beneath it.
