The Sports Authority of India (SAI) (Hindi: भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण) is a body set up by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It was created in 1984 to help promote sport throughout the country, with its headquarters at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Complex, New Delhi. It has seven regional centres at Bangalore, Bhopal, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Sonepat, Delhi, Mumbai and Imphal and two sub-centres at Guwahati and Aurangabad.
