Sylvester Joseph "Steve" Wittman (April 5, 1904 - April 27, 1995) was an air-racer and aircraft designer and builder.Wittman learned how to fly in 1924 in a Standard J-1 and earned his pilot certificate a few years later (signed by Orville Wright).
