Syrmia (Serbian: Срем, Srem; Croatian: Srijem) is a fertile region of the Pannonian Plain in Europe, between the Danube and Sava rivers. It is divided between Serbia in the east and Croatia in the west. Most of Syrmia is located in the Srem and South Bačka districts of Serbia's Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. A smaller part of the region around Novi Beograd, Zemun, and Surčin belongs to the City of Belgrade.
