Between 1969 and 1987 there were 14,599 terrorist attacks recorded by Italian authorities, of which 359 caused death or injuries. A total of 419 people were killed and 1,182 were injured in the attacks. Almost three quarters of the attacks were attributed to left-wing terrorists, however 137 of the fatalities were the result of just five of the 27 bomb attacks attributed to neo-fascist terrorists.
