Tony Fan-Cheong Chan (Chinese: 陳繁昌) is a Hong Kong-born mathematician and President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 1 September 2009.He succeeded Chu Ching-wu who retired from HKUST in August 2009.Tony Chan worked at UCLA and at the National Science Foundation. He is a co-founder of the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, an NSF-funded institute at UCLA.
