Vernon Rodney Coaker (born 17 June 1953) is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gedling since 1997 and Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland from October 2011 to October 2013, and again since September 2015. He also served as the Minister of State for Schools from 2009 to 2010 and was Shadow Secretary of State for Defence from 2013 to 2015.
