The western black-headed batis (Batis erlangeri) is a species of bird in the Platysteiridae family. It is found in Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, western Kenya, Rwanda, northern Somalia, Sudan, western Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and moist savanna. It was formerly considered to be a subspecies of the eastern black-headed batis.
