The Xhosa language (English /ˈkɔːsə/ or /ˈkoʊsə/; Xhosa: isiXhosa [isikǁʰɔ́ːsa]) is one of the official languages of South Africa. Xhosa is spoken by approximately 7.6 million people, or about 18% of the South African population.
