Yenagoa is a Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Yenagoa (the State capital) in the south of the area at4°55′29″N 6°15′51″E.The LGA has an area of 706 km² and a population of 353,344 at the 2006 census.The postal code of the area is 561.Yenagoa is the traditional home of the Ijaw people. The Ijaw form the majority of the Bayelsa State.
