Addis Ababa Light Rail (Amharic: የአዲስ አበባ ቀላል ባቡር) is a light rail transportation system in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A 17km line running from the city centre to industrial areas in the south of the city opened on 20 September 2015, while an east-west line remains under construction. The total length of both lines will be 31-kilometre (19 mi) and trains are expected to be able to reach speeds of 70 km/h (43 mph).
