Anurag Kumar is a professor at Department of Electrical Communication and the chairman of Electrical Sciences Division and currently the Director of Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India. The council of the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore on 29 March 2014 selected him, as its 20th director. He holds a PhD from Cornell University, obtained after graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1977.
