Arbutus occidentalis is a Mexican species of shrubs in the heath family. It is widespread across much of Mexico from Chihuahua to Oaxaca.Arbutus occidentalis is a colony-forming shrub sometimes as much as 140 cm tall. Bark is red or reddish-brown. Leaves are up to 6 cm (2.4 inches) with teeth along the edges. Fruits are red.
