Bandhanam (English: Bondage) is a 1978 Indian Malayalam film, directed by MT Vasudevan Nair and produced by VBK Menon. The film stars Shobha, Sukumaran, Sankaradi and Shubha in lead roles. The film had musical score by MB Sreenivasan. The film observes a boy's return from city living to the village. The film's mood is sorrowful: the boy cannot shake himself free of the experience of the city and fails to adapt to village life.The title of the film literally translates to"bondage".
