The Battle of Macalangit, or the Macalangit Skirmish, occurred in September 9–12, 2007, in the forests of Sitio Macalangit, Brgy. New Israel, Makilala, Cotabato, Philippines, four days after Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the president of the Philippines that time, signed Amnesty Proclamation 1377 for members of the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing, the New People's Army. But three days later, not satisfied with the amnesty, the NPA conducted a raid in Brgy.
