"Breaker of Chains" is the third episode of the fourth season of HBO's fantasy television series Game of Thrones, and the 33rd overall. The episode was written by series co-creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, and directed by Alex Graves. It aired on April 20, 2014.The episode received critical praise overall, but triggered a public controversy over the decision to portray the sexual encounter between Jaime and Cersei Lannister as what appeared to be rape.
