Carmen Chaplin is a British and French actress and film director. She is the daughter of Michael Chaplin, granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin and great-granddaughter of playwright Eugene O'Neill. Her mother is the French painter Patricia Betaudier, daughter of Trinidadian artist Patrick Betaudier.She was born July 27, 1977 in London, Chaplin grew up in France and Spain.
