Caroline Lucy Scott, Lady Scott (1784–1857), novelist, second daughter of Archibald, first baron Douglas (1748–1827), by Frances, sister of Henry, third duke of Buccleuch, was born on 16 February 1784. She married, on 27 October 1810, Admiral Sir George Scott, K.C.B., who died on 21 December 1841. Lady Scott died at Petersham, Surrey, on 19 April 1857.
