Chinsali is a town in Chinsali District of Zambia, and is the provincial headquarters of Muchinga Province. It lies 15 km west of the Great North Road and about 180 km north-north-east of Mpika. It lies 28 km south-east of the Chambeshi River but only 6 km from the edge of the river's floodplain. The district is home to His royal Highness Chief Chibesakunda of the Bisa people.
