The Cirebonese people are an ethnic group centered on the city of Cirebon in the northern part of the island of Java in Indonesia. Numbering approximately 1.9 million, the Cirebonese are mostly Muslim. The language spoken by the Cirebonese is a mixture of Javanese and Sundanese language, with a heavier influence from Javanese. Generally Cirebonese can be considered as an Independent language outside Javanese and Sundanese.
