David G. Tippett (born August 25, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and the current head coach of the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is the sixth head coach of the Coyotes and the 21st coach in the Phoenix Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets franchise.Tippett is also a former left winger who played in the NHL from 1983 to 1994 for the Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals.
