David Safaryan (Armenian: Դավիթ Սաֆարյան, born 1 August 1989 in Cherkessk, Russia) is an Armenian world and European champion Freestyle wrestler. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's freestyle 66 kg division. He won the gold medal of 2013 World Wrestling Championship.Safaryan won a gold medal at the 2013 European Wrestling Championships in Tbilisi and became a European Champion. He is the first Armenian to become a European Champion in freestyle wrestling in nine years.
